HELICAL WORKS ANNOUNCES PARTNERSHIP WITH GSI, GLOBAL LEADER IN BULK STORAGE SOLUTIONS
ABBOTSFORD, B.C., APRIL 25, 2025—Abbotsford’s Helical Works Company Ltd. has announced a new strategic partnership with the world’s largest manufacturers of steel farm bins, commercial storage bins, and grain silos. The company, Grain Systems Inc., is known globally as GSI and is based in Paris, Illinois.
The partnership enables Helical Works to provide their customers in bulk material handling with the very best in standardized storage solutions that will fit seamlessly with Helical’s conveying systems.
“We pursued GSI because they are the gold standard for bulk storage,” said Paul Hiebert, the President of Helical Works. “We’re doing everything we can to stay in tune with our customer’s needs. According to Hiebert, the two companies are well aligned, in terms of their mutual commitment to state-of-the-art production and rigorous quality control. “As Helical, we’ve always excelled at customized storage solutions,” he said, “but now GSI gives us access to a whole new inventory of standardized solutions. For our customers, that means quicker installation initially but also quicker maintenance and replacement in the future.”
Helical Works and GSI have a similar story. Both companies are built on more than fifty years of experience in their field of expertise. For Helical, the story begins in 1971 with the emergence of their parent company, Mainland Machinery, a leader in industrial services and steel fabrication that eventually opened doors into the bulk material handling industry as Helical Works Co. For GSI, the company began in 1972 as a small producer of corrugated steel bins and now has become the world’s largest manufacturer of the same, providing quality equipment and services to over seventy countries worldwide.
Whereas GSI has been focused almost exclusively on the agricultural sector, Helical already has established customers in ports and terminals, mining and minerals, biomass and energy, as well as agriculture.
